Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time Sensitivity and Solubility, a New APTT ACSs Spectra APTT reagent offers true solubility, sensitivity to factors II, V, VIIIc, IX, X, XI, XII, Fletcher and Fitzgerald, an easy way to monitor low molecular weight heparin and unfractionated heparin, and an unprecedented ability to detect the lupus anticoagulant.
ACSs Spectra APTT reagent is a special breakthrough in APTT reagents. Remarkably stable, truly soluble and very sensitive to six of the most clinically significant aspects of intrinsic pathway testing, Spectra offers the laboratorian incredible advantages over standard ellagic acid APTT reagents. Spectra APTT is more sensitive to Fletcher factor, Fitzgerald factor, factors V, VIIIc, IX, X, XII, unfractionated and low molecular weight heparin and the lupus anticoagulant and is equally sensitive to factor II and XI. In addition to these outstanding performance characteristics such as those found in table 1, ACSs Spectra APTT reagent has the added bonus of precise control on phospholipid content. This added precision keeps lot to lot variation to a minimum. ACSs APTT reagent offers more than just extra sensitivity.
Actin is a trademark of Dade Behring Table 1. In this comparison of the sensitivity of Spectra APCT, Dade Behring's APTT (Actin) and ACS's APTT (Spectra) to different factor deficiencies, Spectra APCT shows sensitivity to V, VIIIc, X, XI and Fletcher Factors and shows much greater sensitivity to II, IX and XII than either APTT reagents.
