ACT-Trol™ Activated Clotting Time Controls
ACT-Trols™ are whole blood based, activated clotting
time controls made entirely of animal biological components but engineered to perform like
fresh human samples (patent pending). Since ACT-Trols™ have a stable whole blood
matrix, they are more accurate, precise and reliable than plasma based controls for ACT
instruments such as the Hemochron†, HemoTec†,
or Quest† (ACTester†), ACT instruments. Each set is designed with the
appropriate components for point-of-care use (HemoTec users can buy calcium chloride in
dropper bottles if they use it). The instructions are simple; the stability of the control
allows the user to place packages of controls by the instrument at room temperature for up
to 1 week. The control is stable for up to 8 hours when reconstituted, so one vial of
control can be used for more than one instrument, channel or at different times of day.
One lot can be reserved for an entire year’s use, cutting down on inconsistency and
the expensive and time consuming process of setting ranges. In-Sure™,
a quality assurance program, & In-Service™, a technical
training program, are available free when a customer commits to the purchase a year’s
supply of ACT-Trol™ sets.

ACS SPAT™ Platelet Positive or Negative Controls
The ACS, Inc.’s Platelet Positive & Platelet Negative Aggregation Controls
(for research use only) are for use in the Slide Platelet
Aggregation Test to assure that the reagent is capable of initiating aggregation.
These human matrix controls are designed to be reconstituted and run like a patient
sample. Aggregation should be visible before three minutes for the Positive Control and no
aggregation should be visible well after three minutes for the Negative Control. The
controls are stable for two years from manufacture and for five days when reconstituted. A
free technical assistance plan, In-Service™, is available
with the purchase of a year’s supply of SPAT™ Aggregation Controls.
